Dr. Janssen is a board certified physiatrist and pain specialist with over 13 years of experience. In many cases there is no more qualified specialty than physical medicine and rehabilitation to weigh in on issues of injury, impairment, disability and future medical needs. Dr. Janssen has testified multiple times in such cases and deals with these issues every day in his full time clinical practice.
Christopher Janssen, MD
Christopher Janssen is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine specialist. He has been a practicing interventional physiatrist at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota since 2009. In a addition, Dr. Janssen is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Sanford USD School of Medicine where he mentors medical students and residents.
Dr. Janssen is licensed in the states of South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Texas. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. In addition, he is a Certified Life Care Planner and Independent Medical Examiner. Dr. Janssen earned a bachelor of arts in biology from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He then went on to obtain his medical degree from Tulane University’s School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dr. Janssen performed his residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Northwestern University’s, Feinberg School of Medicine at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. He then completed a pain medicine fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition, Dr. Janssen has lectured on topics related to life expectancy, future medical needs, cost analysis, impairment, and disability.
